The City of Portage relies on citizen participation on many advisory boards and commissions to help to serve the community. The advice received from these groups assists the City Council and the City Administration in making Portage A Natural Place to Move! The citizens serving on the advisory boards and commissions provide the talent and experience needed to meet the diverse challenges facing the community.
A Portage citizen interested in serving on an advisory board or commission must be a registered voter of the City of Portage. Candidates are interviewed and selected by City Council three times a year, in May, October and January. The meeting times and responsibilities of each of the advisory boards and commissions vary and can be found on the subpages to the left.
You may also contact the Office of the City Clerk for details related to the various advisory boards and commissions.
