Incentives

The City of Portage offers a variety of incentives to facilitate new business locations, existing business expansion, and innovative redevelopment. The following incentive tools are available to industrial businesses, and other uses based on the characteristics of the land, buildings, or location within the community. Facade Improvement & Landscaping Grants Available City-Wide

Commercial (retail, service, office) properties within the City of Portage can upgrade their facades, landscaping, and associated improvements on street-facing lots with the Façade Improvement Grant Program. This is a 50/50 matching grant for up to $25,000 for qualified project costs. In addition to the matching funds, the city will reimburse up to $2,500 in architectural fees for approved projects with no match required. This is a competitive grant program available for non-residential properties within the City of Portage boundaries.
