Enjoy the many benefits of cycling during National Bike Month by participating in NEW self-guided bike tours in the beautiful City of Portage. Choose one or all adventures and explore at your leisure. This program launches on Saturday, May 13, and continues until October 1, 2023.

    Rotating exhibitions that focus on local arts and history are in the lobby at Portage City Hall throughout the year. The exhibitions are FREE to the public and are open Monday through Friday. In collaboration with the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts’ West Michigan Area Show, this exhibition will present an array of works from this year’s winning Portage artist whose work best represents the theme A Natural Place to Move.

    Start deer archery season with experts. Join the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) staff on a walk through Gourdneck State Game Area. Learn more about the history of archery, archery equipment, and archery hunting. While all ages are welcome, this program will require walking off-trail and on old footpaths. Please wear close-toed shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and bug spray. No bathroom amenities on-site.
