Creating a Mandala Painting

Monday, February 10 & Wednesday, February 12

3 – 5 PM

$30 Members / $35 Non-Members

Instructed by: Cindy Semark

Traditionally, a mandala is a circular geometric design or pattern that represents the cosmos, the universe. For this class, it is all about creating an interesting design and learning how to mix colors to paint the design using acrylic paints. We’ll start with learning an easy way to build your design on an 8" circle, then touch on the basics of color theory, exploring how colors work together and practicing creating tints and shades of basic color hues. You’ll select a color scheme to use in your mandala and paint the entire design. We will provide a mat for your finished painting to make it even more special. The finished painting is suitable for framing, so you may want to choose colors that will work well in a room in your home. Please call (269) 329-4555 to register.
