[ARCHIVED] Fall Festival

Fall Festival Collage Sept 11

Enjoy a day full of fall demonstrations and activities with Portage Parks & Recreation, on Sunday, September 17, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Celery Flats Historical Area, 7335 Garden Lane.

During Fall Festival, historic buildings will be open for tours along with historical demonstrations such as rope making, broom making, quilt making, glass blowing, pottery, wheat weaving, and blacksmithing.  Joy Journey Farms will be on-site with a collection of farm animals, including Roscoe the camel. Crafts, fun activities, and photo opportunities will be available.  Horse-drawn carriage rides will run every 30 minutes from 10 AM to 1 PM, with limited space, from the Celery Flats Historical Area to the Portage Farmers Market at City Hall.  Music will be provided by The Crescendo Fiddlers from 10 AM to 12 PM and Megan Dooley from 12 to 2 PM.

Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate autumn in a scenic setting with fun things to do for the entire family.  Fall Festival is FREE and open to the public thanks to the event sponsor, Kellogg Community Credit Union.  No registration is required.

Parking will be available at Celery Flats auxiliary and grass lots, City Hall, Portage Zhang Senior Center, and Portage Community Center.
