Portage Parks & Recreation offers fun activities all summer long.  From nature hikes, to watersports, to cycling activities, to business classes; there is something for everyone. These programs are available in June and open to Portage residents and non-residents:

Bog Bio Blitz Hike » Join Portage District Library and Parks staff on an adventure through Bishop’s Bog. Find and identify as many species as possible, with the goal of determining an overall count of organisms that live in Bishop's Bog. 

  • Saturday, June 17, 10 AM - 12 PM
  • FREE
  • Registration required

Paddlesports Sampler » Learn basic skills for kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards through games and fun activities with certified instructors from the American Canoe Association. Ages 8 to adult. 

  • Tuesdays, June 6, 13, 20, 27, 6 - 7 PM
  • $45 per person, per 2-hour session
  • Registration required one week prior to each class

Smart Cycling Program » Gear up for the ride of your life.  Learn the basics of biking from League Certified Instructors, with a curriculum certified by the League of American Bicyclists. This class is a pre-requisite to become a League Certified Instructor.

  • $50 per person 
  • Registration required

Self-Guided Bike Expeditions » Enjoy the many benefits of cycling by participating in new self-guided bike tours in the beautiful City of Portage. Choose one or all adventures and explore at your leisure.

Pump Track Tricks » Learn the best tips and tricks for riding the Pump Track at Lexington Green Park from Pedal Bicycle instructors. Chaperone is required for anyone under the age of 18.

IdeaWorx Workshops » Transform your idea into reality by participating in business development programs. In June, Cottage Food Law 101 and Launch Your Business classes are available.
