On Saturday, June 3, 2023, Consumers Energy will begin line clearing work on Low Voltage Distribution (LVD) lines in the area noted on the map. The project will take approximately two months to complete. LVD lines run through neighborhoods and connect to residences. When trimming limbs and trees, Consumers Energy follows clearance standards that vary based on the voltage of nearby electric lines. Consumers Energy has notified affected property owners with a project postcard. The City of Portage received notification about this project on Thursday, June 1, 2023.
