SPECIAL BRUSH COLLECTION REMINDER
The special brush collection in response to the recent ice storm is set to begin on Monday, March 6 in SPECIAL PICKUP ZONE 1, followed by ZONE 2 the week of Monday, March 13, and ZONE 3 the week of Monday, March 20 (see graphic below).
Residents can begin placing brush and limbs (NO LEAVES🍁) at the curb immediately but no later than 7 AM on the designated Monday for the special collection zone. ❄❄❄ Since Mother Nature seems to have a sense of humor and is sending more snow our way, please try to keep the brush on the curb, rather than in the street. Our snowplow operators will do their best to navigate around brush piles that are already placed in the street. ❄❄❄
Branches should be between 4 and 6 feet long and less than 3 inches in diameter. Each street will be cleared one time and each zone will be cleared within its designated week. Crews cannot return to pick up brush placed out late. For complete information, visit portagemi.gov/280.
The City of Portage Compost Facility will be open every Saturday from 9 AM to 3 PM through the end of March for resident drop-off services. The compost facility is located at 10905 Oakland Drive, just south of Osterhout Avenue.
