Portage Parks & Recreation will close out the 2021 Summer Concert Series on Thursday, August 19 with a drive-in style concert featuring Al Hight & M6 West at Ramona Park (8600 South Sprinkle Road) from 7 – 9 PM. Parking opens at 5 PM and is first come, first served. Curry in a Hurry food truck will be on-site serving concessions starting at 5:30 PM.
After decades in the music industry, rhythm and blues artist Al Hight brought together the best talent and resources in the area to form the group known as the M6 West band (named after a highway in Grand Rapids). Enjoy this concert from your car or bring a chair or blanket. Don’t forget to leave a little room for busting a move! Admission is FREE, thanks to our Summer Concert Series Sponsor, the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo. No ticket or registration is required for admission into the event.
In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held in the Portage Central High School Auditorium (8135 South Westnedge Avenue). Please check Facebook @CityOfPortageMI for updates or changes.
