The City of Portage Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program is funded by an annual entitlement grant awarded to the community by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Consolidated Plan is designed to help local jurisdictions assess affordable housing and community development needs and market conditions, and to make data-driven, place-based investment decisions in regards to the use of CDBG entitlement grant funds and other resources available within the community.
The City of Portage has begun the planning process to update the 2016-20 Consolidated Plan. The consolidated planning process must be completed every five years. The public is encouraged to participate in this planning process by providing feedback on the draft Plan and participating in the public meetings.
