[ARCHIVED] I Love Portage Essay Contest!

ILovePortage4012020

Students!  Do you have a passion for Portage?  Tell us about it!  Mayor Randall and the City Council may select you to virtually “flip the switch” to light the annual holiday lights in the Portage City Centre on December 1.

Submit a one-page essay about why you love Portage – your favorite places to go or fun things to do in Portage – and what makes Portage A Natural Place to Move!  Entries should include your:

  • Name
  • Mailing Address
  • Phone Number (so that we can contact you should your essay be selected)
  • Grade in School
  • School Name

The entry deadline is Friday, November 6.  City Council will read all of the submitted essays and determine the winner (or winners!)  The winning author(s) will have the opportunity to participate in kicking off the holiday festivities at the 2020 “Virtual” Traditional Holiday & Tree Lighting Celebration on December 1 at 7 PM during the City Council Meeting.

Submit entries by US Mail or deliver to:
