The Portage City Council will meet on Tuesday, July 14 beginning at 7 PM at Portage City Hall, 7900 South Westnedge Avenue. Governor Whitmer’s Executive Order 2020-129 allows for the continuation of conducting public meetings remotely through July 31, 2020; however, in-person attendance is now allowed. The city will continue to provide mechanisms for remote attendance, meaning some members of the Council may attend in person while others may choose to attend remotely. The ability for remote participation by the public will also continue to be provided.
Every person who physically attends the meeting must wear a face covering and not more than 50 individuals in total may attend an indoor meeting, including board and commission members, staff and the public. A distance of at least six feet must be maintained at all times.
On Tuesday, July 14, the Council will also meet at 5:30 PM to interview Board and Commission applicants and at 6 PM to review applications for the City Council vacancy. To participate in any of these meetings in real time, call (844) 854-2222, Access Code 529853#. To voice a question or comment, press *6 to enter the queue.
