Beginning Wednesday, May 27, 2020, weather dependent, the railroad crossing at Garden Lane near the Celery Flats Historical Area will undergo safety improvements by Grand Elk Railroad. The improvements include the installation of railroad crossing gates at this crossing.
During construction, there are no planned lanes closures or detours; however, there may be brief intermittent flagging operations as needed for the equipment to install the planned improvements. Motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists are advised to be alert and cautious while traveling in the construction area on Garden Lane and along the city’s bike crossing of the railroad tracks near Celery Flats. The railroad upgrades are anticipated to be complete by Sunday, June 7, 2020.
