The Proposed Fiscal Year 2020-2021 Budget will be presented to the Portage City Council at its regular meeting on Tuesday, April 14 at 7 PM. The budget, along with the Proposed Ten-Year 2020-2030 Capital Improvement Program, can be found at portagemi.gov/638

“I am pleased to be presenting a balanced budget that includes no increases in any millages or fees,” said City Manager, Joe La Margo. “The proposed budget is a responsible fiscal blueprint for the coming year,” he said. 

The presentation of the proposed budget begins the City Council’s budget review process. Budget review sessions will be held on Tuesday, April 21 and Tuesday, May 5, followed by a public hearing on Tuesday, May 12. Final adoption of the FY 2020-2021 Budget is scheduled for Tuesday, May 26. 

Until the Governor’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” Executive order is lifted, all City Council meetings will be held virtually. The public can view the live meetings on Spectrum channel 995, AT&T channel 99 and via live stream at portagemi.viebit.com. The public can participate in the virtual meetings by calling (844) 854-2222 and using Access Code 529853#. A person wishing to make a comment or ask a question during the designated public comment periods may press *6.
