- One Stop Shopping! Trash, yard waste, and recycling services will be handled by the same company.
- No more mix-and-match bins and busted carts on our streets.
- Lower and more controlled rates. Every Portage resident is guaranteed a trash rate of $14.04 a month for the first year. Those interested in yard waste removal services will pay only $84 per year. The annual inflation rate is locked in and will only increase by 4% each year.
- Enforceable service standards & fair billing practices.
- No more phantom surprise “surcharges” without explanation. Public review or approval is required before haulers can charge extra fees.
- All waste and recyclables will be processed within the state.
- FREE weekly pickup of bulk items in addition to the annual Spring Cleanup program.
- Customizable. After trying the 96-gallon cart for 60 days, you are able to downsize to one that better fits your needs.
- Fewer garbage trucks rumbling through our quiet streets.
- Reduced fuel usage and lower emissions.
- Under the City of Portage program, WM will collect extra bags and recycling overflow.
- Side-door service is available (for a fee) for everyone who requires it.
