Update: The Movie in the Park, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is still on for tonight!
Summer is heating up. Friday at the Flats, hosted by Portage Parks & Recreation, returns on Friday, June 27, from 5 to 8 PM at the Celery Flats Pavilion, 7335 Garden Lane. Join us rain or shine for this fun FREE event featuring LIVE local music, food and beverage vendors, and more!
LIVE local musicians include Dana Scott strumming her guitar while singing an array of eclectic songs, followed by The Iconics performing your favorite classic rock tunes. Come hungry and enjoy a variety of food, desserts, and drinks from Top Shelf Catering, Hall n Weenies, Scott’s Pig Roast, Clark’s Special Kitchen, Little Scoop Ice Cream, and Crusin’ the Streets Sweets. Food vendors accept cash, debit, and credit cards.
During Friday at the Flats, the Celery Flats Historical Area will feature community vendor booths, including local businesses, service providers, non-profits, entertainers, crafters, and more. Jack Dastoli will sing and play guitar throughout the evening while the Portage Historic District Commission offers tours of the historic buildings. There is plenty of lawn seating on both sides, so be sure to bring chairs or blankets.
Stick around for the first Movie in the Park of the season. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 begins at dusk (around 9:30 PM) at the Celery Flats Historical Area. Kettle corn and popcorn from Crusin’ the Street Sweets, and ice cream and limited supplies of Sonic the Hedgehog ice cream bars from Little Scoop Ice Cream will be available for purchase during the movie.
