[ARCHIVED] Portage Traffic Delays & Parking Lot Closure

New Traffic Pattern Ahead

The Zeigler Kalamazoo Marathon will wind through Portage on Sunday, May 4, using the scenic trails of the Portage Creek Bicentennial Park (PCBP) Trail and certain local streets. Runners will enter and exit the city at Kilgore Road and Burdick Street, then hustle to the PCBP Trailhead parking lot at the corner of East Kilgore Road and Lovers Lane. The Trailhead parking lot will be closed on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at sunset through Sunday, May 4, 2025, until 12 PM. Alternate parking is recommended at Portage Creek Bicentennial Park, 910 East Milham Road. Please allow sufficient time when traveling on the following roads during the time indicated below: 

  • Burdick Street & Kilgore Road                7:30 AM – 10 AM
  • Kilgore Road & Lovers Lane                  7:30 AM – 12 PM
  • Garden Lane & Lovers Lane                  7:50 AM – 10:50 AM
  • Lovers Lane / Romence Road Parkway  7:45 AM – 11 AM
  • Portage Road / Ramona Lane                7:45 AM – 11:15 AM
  • Lovers Lane / East Milham Avenue        8 AM – 11:45 AM
  • Portage Road / Stryker Way                  8 AM – 11:15 AM ( East side parking lots will be accessible from the main drive off Portage Road; the north entrance will be barricaded and closed.)

 For more information, call Portage Parks & Recreation at (269) 329-4522 Monday through Thursday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM and Friday from 8 AM to 12 PM.
