It's time to SPRING FORWARD!
Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday, March 9, 2025. That means time is adjusted to achieve longer evening daylight in summer by setting the clocks an hour ahead at 2 AM.
But it’s also a good reminder to change the batteries in your smoke alarms. The Portage Department of Public Safety – Fire Division recommends that you test your smoke alarm batteries once a month and change the batteries at least once a year. Smoke alarms should be replaced when the unit reaches ten years of age.
