On January 30, 2025, a water main break occurred at 732 East Centre Avenue, requiring a temporary depressurization of the main for repairs. As a precaution, residents in the affected area are advised to boil their tap water for at least one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, or brushing their teeth.
The City of Portage is following all necessary procedures, including flushing the system and collecting bacteriological samples, before lifting the advisory. A follow-up news release will be issued once the advisory is lifted.
