Enjoy a day filled with craftsmanship demonstrations from a bygone era, along with food, fun, music, and activities at Fall Festival this Sunday, September 22 from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Celery Flats Historical Area, 7335 Garden Lane. The event is FREE and open to the public thanks to Metronet.
Fall Festival features historical demonstrations like rope and broom making, quilting, glass blowing, pottery, wheat weaving, blacksmithing, candle making, and more. Enjoy antique tractors, mums for sale, historical tours, a petting zoo featuring farm animals and Roscoe the camel, creative crafts for kids, a fall photo opportunity, and music by the Bourbon Brothers. Take a horse-drawn wagon ride from the Celery Flats Historical Area to the Portage Farmers Market at the Portage Zhang Senior Center (10 AM to 2 PM every 30 minutes).
Portage District Library Historian, Steve Rossio will share stories about the history of Portage at 10 AM and 1 PM, while the Crescendo Fiddlers play from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Celery Flats Pavilion. Ibison’s and Coffee Rescue food trucks will sell concessions, and Chef Russ will host cooking demonstrations at Stuart Manor.
Parking is available at the Celery Flats parking lot and the auxiliary and grass lots along Garden Lane, the Portage Zhang Senior Center, and the Portage Community Center.
