Speak Up: Share Your Thoughts on the Master Plan
Over the past 18 months, the City of Portage has been working to update its Master Plan as required by the Michigan Planning Enabling Act of 2008. The draft Portage Forward Together 2045 Master Plan is available for public review at ForwardTogether.portagemi.gov. Now in the final stage of updating the master plan, the City of Portage has opened a 63-day public comment period beginning June 4.
To help facilitate understanding of the draft Master Plan during this public comment period, Portage residents and property owners are invited to a Master Plan Public Meeting from 6:30 to 8 PM on June 24 at the Portage Zhang Senior Center (203 East Centre Avenue). Light refreshments will be served from 6 to 6:30 PM. Learn about the draft Master Plan, ask questions, and submit feedback for consideration by the Planning Commission. The presentation will begin at 6:30 PM with an overview of the draft Master Plan. Following the public comment period, a formal Public Hearing will be held by the Portage Planning Commission in late Summer 2024.
