Beginning Monday, April 1, construction will begin on Portage Road from Romence Road Parkway to Fairfield Road with lane closures throughout the work zone. The Portage Road Reconstruction Project includes resurfacing the existing roadway from Romence Road Parkway to Fairfield Road, installation of center island boulevards, upgrades to sidewalk and ADA ramps, replacement of the traffic signals at the East Milham Avenue and Winters Drive intersections, installation of sanitary sewer and water main, streetlights and restoration. The project is expected to be complete in early August, weather and materials permitting.
On April 1, the southbound curb lane will be closed from Romence Road Parkway to East Milham Avenue. Additionally, the southbound lanes and center turn lane between East Milham Avenue and Fairfield Road will be closed.
