The Portage Department of Public Safety – Police Division is pleased to introduce PowerEngage, a new community engagement software. PowerEngage, a new citizen feedback solution, uses text messaging to keep citizens informed and encourages them to provide feedback after non-life-threatening interactions with Portage Police Officers. Text messages are sent hours or days after the incident and will ask citizens to take a quick survey about their experience. Citizens who do not want to participate simply ignore the messages or reply STOP to opt out of future text surveys from the Portage Department of Public Safety.
“In today’s on-demand society, we understand how important it is to keep citizens informed. Much like private companies use tools to send automatic text message notifications, updates, and satisfaction surveys to their customers, our Police Division is now able to do the same,” said Public Safety Director Nicholas Armold, “We expect that this new solution, PowerEngage, will drastically enhance communication with the citizens we serve.”
Please remember that these surveys should NOT be used to report an emergency or crime. As always, DIAL 9-1-1 for emergencies and to report criminal activity. For more details on PowerEngage, visit portagemi.gov/324.
