[ARCHIVED] Early Brush Collection

portage michigan flag

The January Quarterly Curbside Brush Collection schedule will be accelerated based on predicted snowfall over the coming days.  The long-term forecast predicts a significant amount of snow in the next two weeks.  In an attempt to collect as much brush as possible before the snowfall, city crews will begin to collect brush immediately in Zone 3 (the southeast zone) and Zone 4 (the northeast zone).  Residents in Zones 3 and 4 are encouraged to place brush and Christmas trees (free of tinsel and decorations) at the curb as soon as possible.  Crews will return to these zones to collect any remaining brush during the regularly scheduled weeks of January 21 (for Zone 3) and January 28 (for Zone 4).  The Oakland Drive Compost Facility will also be open for Brush Drop Off Day on Saturday, February 2 from 8 AM – 12 noon.

Questions concerning the Quarterly Curbside Brush Collection Program may be directed to the Department of Public Services at 329-4444.

Thank you!
