On August 23, 2023, a water main break occurred at the intersection of Tattersall Road and Robinswood Street. During repairs, it became necessary to depressurize a section of the water main. Water customers in the area (6518 - 6526 Robinswood Street and 3128 - 3124 Tattersall Road) have been advised with a door tag to boil their tap water for a minimum of one minute prior to use for drinking, brushing their teeth, or cooking.
All necessary measures will be taken to ensure the safety and well-being of Portage water customers. The boil water advisory is a precautionary measure, and the city will flush and collect bacteriological samples from the water main before lifting the advisory. We will notify all affected customers and issue a news release once it is safe to do so.
