Lanterns on the Lake Registration Deadline Approaching
Portage Parks & Recreation will host Lanterns on the Lake on Saturday, May 20 from 8 to 9:30 PM at the Ramona Park beachfront, 8600 South Sprinkle Road. Light up the lake with a floating lantern that honors loved ones by decorating each lamp with words of remembrance, hope, and encouragement. Feel the power of your community by taking time to remember those we have loved and lost together. Bring a picnic dinner to enjoy while you decorate your lantern. Musical guest Chris Behre will perform throughout the evening. To avoid impacting the environment, Portage Parks & Recreation will retrieve all the floating lanterns from the water after the event concludes.
Registration for the event is required by Wednesday, May 17. Each lantern kit is $10 and includes a floating lantern and markers for decorating. Kits will be distributed to each registered participant beginning at 8 PM. To register, visit mypark.portagemi.gov and click on the purple "Register Now!" button.
