Portage Parks & Recreation kicks off the Summer Concert Series with Denise Davis & The Motor City Sensations on Thursday, June 9 at 7 PM. The event returns to the Overlander Bandshell in Central Park (7999 South Westnedge Avenue) for most of the 2022 Summer Concert Series.
Ardent music lovers from the Motor City will tell you that “There ain’t no party like a Dee-troit party." Denise Davis and the Motor City Sensations are one of the most dynamic and entertaining bands comprised of some of the best musicians and singers around, with a repertoire of R&B, Pop, Funk, Top 40, Soul, and Classics.
Parking begins at 5 PM and is first come, first served. A drop off loop and parking are available behind Portage Public Safety for those with limited mobility. Scott’s Pig Roast will be serving award winning BBQ starting at 5 PM.
Bring a chair or blanket to sit on and don't forget to leave a little room for busting a move. The event is FREE and open to the public because of the series sponsor, the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo. Make sure to check the Facebook event page @CityofPortageMI for updates.
