Work to improve South Westnedge Avenue from Romence road to Mall Drive began on June 4 with milling of the roadway surface. Future improvements include new concrete curb and gutter, sidewalks, ADA ramps, water main hydrant extensions, storm sewer improvements and traffic signal replacement at J L Hudson Drive. Storm sewer improvements includes replacement of existing storm lines and the installation of a storm sewer relief outlet for South Westnedge Avenue east of J L Hudson Drive.
Estimated Cost: $3,000,000 (MDOT Funding - $700,000)
Anticipated Completion Date: September 4, 2018
Lane closures and traffic shifts began June 4, 2018 with construction work starting June 5, 2018.
