The opening of the Ice Rink at Millennium Park is delayed for perhaps several weeks as a result of the extension of the State of Michigan “Pause to Save Lives” restrictions.
Several upcoming special events scheduled at the Ice Rink at Millennium Park are also canceled to discourage activities that promote large gatherings, including:
• Ugly Sweater Contest December 15
• Santa Skate December 19
• New Year’s Eve Skate December 31
“The Ice Rink at Millennium Park is a special place. The delay in opening is regrettable but it is the responsible action to take,” said City Manager Joe La Margo. “While the pandemic is making it difficult, Portage Parks & Recreation is committed to finding ways to offer meaningful activities and events to residents and visitors.”
