A New Way to Warm Up Winter: Portage’s Cozy Market Debuts February 1
Portage Parks & Recreation will host a new indoor market on Sunday, February 1, from 11 AM to 3 PM at Portage Parks & Recreation, 320 Library Lane. This market will make winter feel less dreary by helping shoppers find items that bring color and coziness into their lives.
Browse a variety of vendors selling warm clothes and accessories, scented candles, comfort foods, novels by local authors, one-of-a-kind blankets, hobby supplies, scented bubble baths, other pampering products, and gifts that are perfect for Valentine’s Day. Enjoy indoor café-style seating with multiple food trucks offering hot coffee and cocoa, lobster bisque soup, clam chowder, pastys, sandwiches, kettle corn, and more.
A puppy adoption event takes place during the market, as well as live classes for those who would like to learn a new hobby this winter. Cash, credit, and Venmo will be accepted for all classes.
The class schedule is as follows:
- 12 - 12:25 PM: Intro to Meditative Doodling. Cost is $5.
- 12:30 - 1:30 PM: Intro to Knitting. Cost is $25 and includes locally-produced, hand-dyed yarn and knitting needles.
- 2 - 3 PM: Intro to Crochet. Cost is $25 and includes locally-produced, hand-dyed yarn and crochet hooks.
