The City of Portage is pleased to announce that we have met our 1,000-pound plastic bag recycling challenge goal as of July 1, 2025. Due to the overwhelming positive response and support from the community, we completed a year-long challenge in just four months and will receive a compost bench from NexTrex for our efforts, which will be placed at one of your city's beautiful parks.
Even though we will not be collecting plastic bags at City Hall as of July 1, we would like to encourage you to continue to recycle your bags at these nearby NexTrex partner locations:

- Kohls - 6100 South Westnedge Avenue
