[ARCHIVED] Juneteenth Celebration

Juneteenth Celebration 1200

Juneteenth (June 19, 1865) is a federal holiday that honors the anniversary of the freedom of the last African Americans who were enslaved in the US. To commemorate this significant date in our history and better understand the evolution of our nation and its people, visit Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park to reflect upon and learn about African American resilience and achievement. Celebrate Freedom Day as you explore a “Garden of Hope,” participate in the self-led tour, reflect on meditative benches, and view the interpretive kiosk.

  • Daily, June 16 - 20, during normal park hours
  • Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park (1000 MLK Drive)
  • FREE (No registration required)
