The City of Portage celebrates the completion of the East Central Trail with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 AM on Friday, May 16, at the Lovers Lane trail entrance. After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, you are invited to take the time to walk or bike this new trail and enjoy the forested scenic views and wetland areas.
This ribbon-cutting ceremony is FREE to attend. Parking is located in the grass lot off of Garden Lane, with shuttles running to and from the trail entrance. Refreshments and light snacks will be available at this event.
The East Central Trail, a combination of a paved non-motorized path and boardwalk, is approximately one mile long, running between Lovers Lane and Portage Road, and serves as a connection between Celery Flats and the Lake Center District. The City of Portage is excited to add this mile to the Portage trail network, which now totals 26 miles of off-road non-motorized trails. Special thanks to Consumers Energy for helping to make the trail possible.
