On Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 10 AM, the Mayors of the City of Portage and the City of Kalamazoo will lead a three-mile bike ride at Eliason Nature Reserve (1614 West Osterhout Avenue) to kick off Kalamazoo Bike Week, which runs from May 10 to 17.
Participants will meet at the Eliason Nature Reserve Pavilion and ride on the trail for 1.5 miles to the north end of the nature reserve. Then reverse directions and conclude their ride at the south end of the nature reserve.
The ride is FREE, rain or shine, and open to the public with no registration required. It will be cancelled in the event of thunder and lightning. Plan on arriving a few minutes early and remember to bring a bike helmet.
The Mayor’s Ride symbolizes the commitment Portage and Kalamazoo have to health, the environment, nature, and the opportunities for safe, non-motorized transportation options in the region. Portage Mayor Patricia M. Randall and Kalamazoo Mayor David Anderson look forward to celebrating Bike Week by encouraging you to participate in this shared opportunity.
