The Summer Concert Series Continues with a Motown Tribute
The Portage Parks & Recreation Summer Concert Series presents Motortown All-Stars on Thursday, August 8 starting at 7 PM. The concert takes place at the Overlander Bandshell in Central Park, 7810 Shaver Road.
Find your flashiest top to dance the night away with timeless Motown grooves everyone knows and loves. The Motortown All-Stars feature a lineup of world-class vocalists drawn from the ranks of the legendary groups that made many of these hits timeless classics. This dynamic vocal group is assembled from members of The Capitols (Cool Jerk), The Miracles (Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Hollywood Walk of Fame Inductees), and former members of The Temptations.
Top Shelf Catering and Coffee Rescue food trucks will offer food and beverages for purchase. Bring a chair or blanket and don't forget to leave a little room to do your best “Mashed Potato” dance groove. Parking at Portage City Hall, the Portage Zhang Senior Center, the former Ascension Borgess Building (7895 Currier Drive), and the Portage Community Center begins at 5 PM and is first come, first served. A drop-off loop is available behind the Portage Department of Public Safety for those with mobility issues.
