Happy Holidays from the PZSC Team

Wishing you a joyful holiday season filled with warmth, good health, and meaningful moments with the people who matter most to you. We are grateful to be part of such a vibrant, generous, and welcoming community, and we look forward to all that the new year will bring.

Holiday Hours

Christmas Holiday : The PZSC will be closed Wednesday, December 24 thru Sunday, December 28

 New Year’s Holiday: The PZSC will be closed Thursday, January 1 thru Sunday, January 4. The Center will also close at 5 PM on Wednesday, December 31.

Normal hours will resume on Monday, January 5.

Fitness Registration Update

On Monday, December 15, the Portage Zhang Senior Center experienced a temporary technical issue that prevented online fitness registration from working as expected. During that time, staff responded to more than 200 phone calls in just two hours from members eager to get registered.

The issue has since been fully resolved, and we do not anticipate any ongoing challenges with online registration.

If you would like to confirm your fitness registration status or have any questions, please feel free to contact the Senior Center—we’re happy to help.

We truly appreciate the dedication of our administrative and program staff, who worked quickly and professionally to assist members during a very busy morning. We also ask everyone to remember that our staff are here to help and deserve the same kindness and respect they work hard to show our members each day.

AARP Tax-Aide Assistance at the PZSC

Registration opens Monday, January 5 at 8 AM. 

To schedule an appointment, call (269) 329-4555.

Beginning Tuesday, February 3, AARP Tax-Aide Volunteers will offer free tax preparation every Tuesday through April 14. Appointment times are available between 9 AM and 2:30 PM. All volunteers are IRS-trained and certified. 

To ensure a smooth appointment, please bring all required documents and plan to pick up your tax packet one week beforehand. 

Program notes: 

• This service is free for all, with a focus on taxpayers age 50+, low-income individuals, and those with disabilities. 
• PZSC and AARP membership is not required. 
• PZSC staff cannot provide tax-related guidance.

Priority for Taking Registration

On fitness registration day, priority will be as follows: 

• MyActiveCenter (MAC) has first priority  
• In-person registration has second priority  
• Phone Registration and Voicemails will have third priority 

Please note: Phone Calls and Voicemails left earlier or before 8 AM will not be returned.
