Family Fishing Fair

Family Fishing Fair 401

Join the celebration of all things water at the Family Fishing Fair on Saturday, June 19 from 11 AM - 3 PM at Ramona Park (8600 S. Sprinkle Road).  All ages and fishing abilities are welcome.  Learn about fishing, boating, aquatic conversation and much more!  Attendees may participate in activities such as lure making, knot tying, fly casting and fun craft projects.

Fishing equipment will be available for those hoping to reel in a big catch!  Visit with the Kalamazoo County Water Safety & Rescue team and the Coast Guard Auxiliary to learn about watercraft safety.  The Great Lakes Newfoundland Club will demonstrate their signature water rescue tests, exhibiting the breed’s natural aquatic ability and skills, at 12, 1 and 2 PM.  Newfoundlands will be also available for a “meet and greet” throughout the event.

Admission is FREE and open to the public, with no registration required.  The first 100 kids (ages 14 and under) will receive a FREE FISHING ROD with special thanks to the Title Sponsor of the Portage Family Fishing Fair, Honor Credit Union!

Be aware that any COVID restrictions in effect at the time of the event will be enforced.  For more information, please call Portage Parks & Recreation at (269) 329-4522.
