NEW for 2020! Joining with Portage Farmers Market for a Sneak Peak!

The Portage Youth Advisory Committee, in cooperation with the Portage Environmental Board and Park Board, will mark 2020 by hosting the 12th Annual Green-A-Thon in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. For the first year ever, the event will partner with a special "sneak peek" Farmers Market before the Market launches in full in May.

Environmental Awareness & Citizen Opportunities

The Green-A-Thon event is a way to raise awareness of environmental issues that affect the citizens of Portage and to provide opportunities to become more ecologically friendly. Providing a forum for such opportunities is a critical step to ensuring a sense of social responsibility in participating and encouraging “green” behavior.

Earth Day Oriented, Exhibits, Games & Food

This family-friendly Earth Day festival is open to all and includes exhibits, games and giveaways such as seedlings. Food will be available for purchase. Numerous local vendors and organizations will be present.

Exhibitor Booths & Tables

Organizations and businesses are invited to participate in this event as a way to promote themselves as environmentally conscious, provide Portage residents with an opportunity to be friendlier to the environment and educate people on the importance of "going green." There is no charge to participate or attend. A limited number of tables and chairs are available for use, though exhibitors are encouraged to bring their own.
