This Online Police Reporting system allows you to submit a report immediately and print a temporary copy of the report. Please confirm the following to determine if filing an online report is right for you:
- Is this an emergency?
- Did this incident occur outside of Portage city limits?
- Are there known suspects?
If you answered NO to all of the above questions, you are ready to file your report online. Please make sure pop-up blocking software is off before filing the report.

After you submit your online report you will:
- See the words, "Your report has been submitted."
- Be given a tracking number for your report.
- Be able to print a temporary copy of the report for your records.
Please note:
- All reports filed using the Online Police Reporting system will be reviewed.
- Upon review, you may be contacted if further investigation of your case is needed.
- Filing a false police report is a crime.
Using the Portage Online Police Reporting system you can report incidents such as:
Child Custody Violation, Private Property Traffic Crash (including Hit and Run), Lost Property, Malicious Destruction of Property, Phone Harassment, Retail Fraud, Suspicious Activity, Vandalism, and Theft.
