Board of Review to Meet on July 18
The City of Portage Board of Review will meet at City Hall (7900 South Westnedge Avenue), on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 10 a.m., until such time as the Board completes its business. The July Board of Review is limited in what it can address, including clerical errors and mutual mistakes of fact related to real and personal property assessments. The July Board of Review is prohibited from hearing disputes related to property valuation.
Disabled Veterans Exemption requests and Poverty Exemption Applications may also be considered at this time. Completed applications for these exemptions must be received by the City Assessor no later than Monday, July 3, 2017.
The Board may also consider 2014 through 2017 Homeowner’s Principal Residence Exemption Affidavit requests where no previous affidavit was filed and denied. Applications for Homeowner’s Principal Residence Exemption Affidavit must be completed prior to the meeting and include an accurately filed Homeowner’s Principal Residence Exemption Affidavit.
