Recycled Art in the Park - Exhibit Entries Must Be Submitted by March 31

Recycled Art in the Park, a non-juried art show, provides a venue for area artists to express creativity and enhance public awareness about recycling.  The event will kick off at 12 noon on Saturday, May 6 with musical entertainment, public viewing and a recycling vendor tent.  Refreshments will be available for purchase.  Following the kick-off event, the artists’ exhibits will be displayed for public viewing throughout the week at the Celery Flats Historical Area.

A panel of area artists will judge the artwork based on adherence to the recycling content for eligibility, with 60% creative use of materials as they were not originally intended and 40% overall artistry and originality.  Examples of past works are shown in the photos to the left. Prizes will be awarded on Saturday, May 6 in a variety of categories, including $1,000 for First Place; $750 for Second Place; $500 for Third Place; $100 for Youth to 15 years of age and $500 for Sponsors Choice. A $500 Public Choice prize will be announced on Saturday, May 13 following an online voting period.
