The Portage Senior Center offers a variety of one-day and multi-day trips planned to please both those looking for new destinations and those who prefer the comfort of familiarity. From theater trips to cruises, the Senior Center travel program is popular with members.  

Eligibility:
Portage Senior Center trips are planned for Kalamazoo County residents over the age of 50 and their spouses. (Exceptions will be made for companions of persons needing assistance.) Members of the Portage Senior Center are given priority when registering for trips. Staff should be made aware of mobility problems, special diets, or other conditions that should be taken into consideration.

Reservations:
For your convenience the trip office is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with a one hour lunch break usually between 11:00 a.m. and noon.  Reservations should be made in person at the Center during those hours whenever possible. Reservations may also be made via U.S. mail. Payment must accompany the reservation. Please enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope to have an itinerary mailed to you. Telephone reservations cannot be accepted.

Payment:
Checks should be made payable to the Portage Senior Center unless otherwise instructed.

Portage Senior Center Travel Guide contains all the information you need.  Stop in at the Senior Center to pickup a copy, call us at 324-9239 to request a copy or download a copy using the link to the right. If you like to travel, but do not want to do a lot of walking, check out the walking level indicator in the travel guide.  Level 1 means not much walking is involved in that trip.  Likewise, level 2 indicates some walking and level 3 indicates that a significant amount of walking is involved with the potential for stairs.
