Barricades are available upon request and may be picked up from the Department of Public Services located at: 7719 S Westnedge Avenue Portage, MI 49002
Barricades must be placed so that emergency equipment such as Police, Fire and Ambulance can enter the area if needed. Barricades should be placed at the beginning and end of the location of the block party to discourage traffic from driving through the area.
Review the noise ordinance. Every block party must abide by the City of Portage Code of Ordinances Noise Ordinance. Please take time to review the noise ordinance before planning your block party by following the link above.
Be aware that if alcoholic beverages are served, it must be done in compliance with Local and State Ordinances.
